A brief background on myself and the purpose of this trip:
My name is Ingrid Chandra and I am originally from Bali, Indonesia. Currently, I am a fourth year student in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems (LFS) majoring in Nutritional Science. As a recipient of LFS’s International Undergraduate Research Award, I will be helping Ms. Vashti Verbowski, Dr. Tim Green and Dr. Judy McLean to create a database for Fish on Farms’ 24 hour food recall data. In order to get a complete picture of the Fish on Farms (FoF) project, I had the chance to come to Cambodia for two weeks. The following four blog entries will give a brief recap of the FoF-related activities that I took a part in during my time in Cambodia (June 3rd – 16th). On the first week, I attended FoF related meetings in Phnom Penh and went on a field trip to Prey Veng with the whole University of British Columbia’s (UBC) research team, Helen Keller International’s (HKI) staffs and International Development Research Centre’s (IDRC) representatives that were present. Meanwhile, on the second week, I worked on sorting through FoF’s 24-hour food recall data with the help of HKI’s staffs.
